Two how to’s in a row, oops. Forgive me.
I don’t believe in perfect the way it’s perceived by most people. A perfect something is something you have to create for you and only you. For example, a ‘perfect’ body is the kind of body you’ll find in magazines and on certain social media platforms. At least, that’s what you think, but in reality there is no way you can look exactly like that person you describe as ‘body goals’. You’re your own body goals and you’re working on your body for YOU. With that being said, here are some ways you can make sure your summer is your kind of perfect.
1. Do something productive everyday.
We all tend to stay in bed all day during summer, because we finally have the opportunity to do exactly that. Personally, when I decide to watch an entire season of the vampire diaries in one day and do nothing else, I’ll end up feeling terrible about myself and about the time I’ve waisted on something I could’ve done in more than one day. Instead, get up and do something that’s worth your summer. Invite your friends over or discover new hobbies. You have an entire summer, make it count.
2. Create a bucket list.
Create a bucket list that’s realistic and try to stick to it as much as you can. It’s really fun and it gives you a reason to get out of the house. You’ll be surprised how many things you can actually ‘check’ on your list. You can do this alone or with your best friend to make it even more fun.
Meeting new people can be nerve wrecking and such a pain and you’re not forced to do anything you’re not comfortable with, but you deserve to go out more and meet new people. Summer is the time for parties so don’t be afraid to say ‘yes’ to an invitation. If you did not like the party you went to at all, you can at least say that you went and that you stepped out of your comfort zone and it’ll be better next time. I’m proud of you.
4. Don’t expect too much.
Tumblr, Pinterest and other similar social media platforms can fool you very easily into thinking your summer can be exactly like the pictures you find. Because of this, you’ll try too hard and your expectations will be set too high. Just have fun YOUR way and don’t think about it. The best memories come unexpected.
So remember, this is YOUR summer and YOUR life, you better create YOUR OWN memories.
Stay beautiful, Anouk.
